Our/Mine Retreat
Project Dates: July 2024-February 2025
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Our/Mine is a retreat experience developed and facilitated by Chelsea Scott and Kendall Rankin, designed to support women in their late twenties and early thirties navigate personal transitions with confidence and clarity. Rooted in reflection, connection, and self-celebration, the inaugural retreat brought together 16 women for a weekend of stillness and sisterhood.
Retreat Approach
The retreat was inspired by the metaphor of a diamond—resilient, multifaceted, and ever-evolving—using the Diamond Campaign’s four value-defining traits as a framework:
-
A creative and fun showcase of individuality, encouraging each woman to reflect on what makes her distinctly herself.
-
A private Pilates session with The Longevity Club helped us reconnect with our bodies through movement. We followed with a wellness roundtable over breakfast to share tips and truths about supporting our physical health.
-
With Sisterhood Heals by Joy Harden Bradford, Ph.D. (Therapy for Black Girls) as our guide, we explored how friendships evolve and how we uphold our self-worth through relationships. We also received powerful letters from women like Sadé Muhammad, Rosalind Brewer, and Arvia Few—sharing reflections on navigating life’s pivots with grace and self-honor.
-
Guided visualization and partner discussion framework helped us articulate our unique purpose and chart forward paths rooted in our gifts.
Personalized Attendee Experience
Although we gathered as a group, the retreat was intentionally designed to feel deeply personal. Through detailed pre-retreat intake forms, we gained insight into each woman’s current season and goals—allowing us to tailor the experience in thoughtful, meaningful ways:
Session content was shaped around shared themes and collective intentions.
Reflection prompts were tailored to each woman’s personal journey.
Group pairings were thoughtfully curated to spark meaningful connection.
1:1 check-ins were scheduled to support each attendee’s unique goals and needs.
The result was a retreat that offered structure without rigidity, and depth without overwhelm—a space where collective energy and personal transformation could coexist.
