Chelsea’s Role: Founder, Executive Director

Sunday Stories is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Chelsea Scott in 2024 to combat the disproportionate impact of loneliness on Black women. This initiative aims to foster transformative connections for Black urban-dwelling women between 25-33 years old through storytelling and sisterhood. Each year, a handpicked cohort of 40 women from New York City and Washington DC commit to a year of bespoke events and intimate experiences held on Sunday afternoons, designed to cultivate meaningful relationships.

Project Impact

  • Community Building: Sunday Stories handpicks cohorts of 40 women annually, ensuring a tailored and impactful experience for each member.

  • Financial Management and Nonprofit Governance: Implemented a membership fee structure that balances accessibility with the need to cover organizational costs.

  • Leadership Development: Developed and led a leadership committee of 13 women across 6 committees.
