The Philadelphia Ballet

Semesters: Fall 2023, Spring 2024

Institution: The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania

Chelsea was selected as a 2024 fellow for Nonprofit Board Fellows, a program through Wharton's McNulty Leadership Program. This initiative pairs Wharton MBA candidates with nonprofit boards in the greater Philadelphia area for nine months, serving as visiting board members. During the fellowship, participants gain valuable board experience, support the mission of a partner organization through a special project, and receive on-campus training and development. In this role, Chelsea served as a visiting board member on the board of the Philadelphia Ballet.

Special Project: Community Education and Public Programs (CEPP) Committee

My project aimed to enhance the Philadelphia Ballet's strategic communication of its Community Education and Public Programs (CEPP) by fostering a cohesive external brand focused on accessibility, inclusion, and community. Key activities included conducting industry research to identify best practices in community engagement, defining the Ballet's community value proposition, fostering internal alignment with a comprehensive toolkit, and developing a one-year communications roadmap. These efforts strengthened the Ballet's external brand and effectively showcased its community engagement initiatives.
